Overview of Christianity
Gods Divine Plan
God placed authority in the leaders of households in the era of the Patriarchs, then He gave humanity the Ark of the Covenant within the Holy of Holies room in the Temple, which became a temporary home for Gods residence among men, and still God was rejected by humanity.
God the Son came to the Cross to pay the price for salvation, and after that history entered into yet another era called the Church Age, and Gods dwelling while still in heaven, entered into those who believed in the Savior, Jesus Christ. We are in that current era wherein all three members of the Trinity are indwelled in each believer.
If you have believed in Christ then you are indwelled by all of the members of the Godhead. But again, God remains in heaven and in man, with man controlling his own life. That is not yet a permanent union between the two. But it is very close to the final objective.
During our dispensation, or era of time, God demonstrates to all, that it is possible to maintain and support man through the written word alone, without dreams, without visions, without communications of any type, except for the written word alone.
By means of the scriptures, God is able to teach people about Himself, and to raise them up safely to a point of absolute completeness, whereas no person is complete nor can they become complete on their own.
And again, even though we have all three members of the Godhead indwelled in us, we do not have a direct access to any sort of emotional link or connection.
The Tribulation, which will occur at the end of our dispensation, is a seven year period which will end the rule of man and bring in the Kingdom of God for a period of 1000 years.
During that 1000 year period, called the Millennium, there will be more of an emotional and sensational connection with God, but the permanent residence will still remain elusive. Christ will reside in Jerusalem, while God will remain in heaven, and man will still be here on the earth.
Man will still fade away from God, and will immediately follow Satan upon his release at the end of the Millennium. Many people during the Millennium, will still reject Christ and Gods spiritual plan, despite the physical presence of Christ here on this earth and despite the elevated and enhanced attributes of the spiritual life.
Only after all of human history when God destroys this universe and then creates the next and new and final universe, when both heaven and the new universe are united and combined, only then will God take up His permanent home and residence inside of each and every believer. And that is the final objective of Gods residence.
Beginning in eternity past, God advances history along, in order to prepare and create a final and permanent home for Himself as well as all who will have believed in Him. Only then, when both man and God are united, will sin and evil be eternally prevented and eliminated.
